Rex Alfred is a minor character in Another Code: R - A Journey into Lost Memories and its remake.
He is the father of Elizabeth Alfred and ex-husband of Kate. He is the director of J.C. Valley.
Background
Rex with Sayoko, Richard and Judd.
He became friends with Richard and Sayoko from their time at M.J. Labs. He is one of the co-founders of J.C. Valley with Judd Fitzgerald when the company was made in the mid-90s.
In 1994, when Sayoko had to erase her memories in order to leave the company, he gave her some mnemonic fluid in front of the clock tower at Lake Juliet so she could keep her memories of the day Ashley was born.
He is the current director of J.C. Valley since 2001. He divorced his wife Kate in 2003 and is thinking about being remarried to Sofia Callaghan. He hopes having a mother figure in Elizabeth's life will help her, although Sofia does not like the idea. Sofia feels Rex is a mediocre scientist, but claims spending time with him has warmed up her cold heart a little bit. Rex has been hiding his ex-wife's letter to Elizabeth for four years for unclear reasons, possibly out of resentment for her.
Another Code: R - A Journey into Lost Memories
Rex tackles Ryan to save Ashley and Richard, but gets shot in the shoulder in the process.
Ashley meets him in Elizabeth's house and learns about Elizabeth's struggle with her father and how she hates him. Elizabeth later finds her mother's letters that Rex hid from her, causing her emotional turmoil.
Near the end of the game, he saves Richard and Ashley when they were being threatened at gunpoint by Ryan Gray. He gets shot in the shoulder when Ryan is knocked off balance.
At the end, he vows to change for the better and improve his relationship with Elizabeth.
